This is the illustration for the Invincible Iron Man #1, the first part of the now legendary Extremis storyline that retconned Tony Stark's origin for a more modern age. It was one of the primary influences on the first Iron Man movie and the birth of the MCU and led to Adi working on the film itself, adapting and continuing many of the ideas set out in this book. Furthermore, the Extremis storyline itself formed a part of the plot of Iron Man 3. This cover in particular influenced the way Iron Man flies in the movies and was replicated in live action many times over the years.

It was drawn traditionally on paper and painted digitally and has become one of the most iconic representations of Iron Man of the last 20 years.
